1. Who we are
Lokoja Intelligence ("Lokoja", "we"), operated by Lokoja Commodities Ltd, provides market information for Kenya's food trade via this website's Kenya pages and our public API (together, the "Kenya Service"). Contact: hello@lokoja.app.
2. Acceptance
By using the Kenya Service you agree to these Terms. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
3. The nature of our data — important
Kenya prices on the Service are indicative market medians derived from public WFP market monitoring, in Kenyan shillings, each dated to its observation month. Kenyan markets report on rotating cadences, so observation months differ by market. Prices are provided for information only and are not an offer, a quotation, trading advice, or a guarantee of any price. Always verify prices independently before transacting. We are not liable for trading, purchasing or lending decisions made in reliance on the Service.
4. Free service
The Kenya pages and the public API (source=ke-wfp) are currently free. The WhatsApp assistant serves Nigeria and is not part of the Kenya Service today. Paid subscriptions, pilots and bespoke data work are governed by separate written agreements which take precedence over these Terms for those services.
5. Acceptable use
- No scraping, bulk extraction or resale of the data without a written licence;
- no use of the Service to mislead market participants;
- no interference with the Service's operation or security testing without permission.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, its branding, software, and the compilation of its data are our property or licensed to us. Underlying public-source data (including WFP market monitoring) remains subject to its original licences.
7. Availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may modify, suspend or discontinue features at any time. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee it.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the free Kenya Service is limited to KSh 5,000; liability under paid agreements is as stated in those agreements. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the courts of Lagos State — without affecting any mandatory protections available to you under Kenyan law.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms; the effective date above will change and continued use constitutes acceptance.
